As a subscriber to my workout advice, it is extremely important that you are getting as much protein in a day as possible. I have studied up on this subject a lot, and I can already tell you that you are most likely not getting enough protein in your daily diet. Most of us already know that protein builds muscle, but did you know Protein is instrumental in helping you burn fat? Also, do you know how much you need in a day? According to several studies, you should be in-taking about 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight per day. This is even more important for guys over 50. Your body begins to slow in it’s production of testosterone, and as a result requires a full supply of protein each day in order to build muscle. WebMD has a really good article on the benefits of Protein (see link below). If you are overweight, you don’t need quite so much until you get to that place of wanting to build muscle more than lose fat.
Considering a single egg only has 6 grams of protein in it, you can see how it’s quite possible you’re not getting enough. Healthline.com has a great article on foods rich in protein. Read up on it so you can start making better choices on the protein rich foods you need to eat. See the link below.
