The Game Plan

First things first. There are no diet plans, or programs on this site. It’s just a way of life. Live it, and benefit from it. Diets and plans have short term goals. That’s setting yourself up for failure at some point because ultimately, something will get in the way. So look at this as changing your life. For the rest of your life. So, if you don’t lose 20lbs by January, so what? Losing weight fast usually leads to gaining it all right back. Read articles from the winners of the hit TV show “Biggest Loser”. Every one of the winners will tell you they gained a large part of their weight back after the show. Statistics will show you that 97% of the people who start plans or diets quit before 1 year.

This is about changing your life and being fit for the rest of your life! By the way, please don’t focus on losing weight. THIS IS REALLY ABOUT LOSING FAT AND GETTING HEALTHY, NOT LOSING WEIGHT! If you can lose 50lbs of fat, but gain 40lbs of muscle, you’ll only be 10 lbs lighter, but are you gonna complain? Absolutely not, and I seriously doubt your significant other will either!

Need motivation? Do it for the people in your life who need you around. Don’t look at yourself in the mirror and say “I need to do something about this.” That’s putting the focus on your wants and desires. We have a funny way of putting our own wants and desires aside when the fight is too hard. So, change that. Look at your loved ones, and say to yourself “I need to set an example for them, and I need to be around for them.” It’s a lot harder to give up that kind of fight. Also, as a believer of Christianity, I refer to scripture that motivates me. When it comes to keeping fit, my favorite one is 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” 

So what’s my long term goal?
If you need a goal, here it is…
I am going to change my eating and exercise habits in such a way that at some time in the future, I will hit my optimal weight according to height and muscle structure God gave me. Then, I will maintain that body for the rest of my life without any extra effort other than what I get in the habit of doing, and I will do this for my God and the loved ones who rely on me.
